NoLocalOption.com Listens to Voters Cries for Help.
Nearly every voter we talked to in Polk County had concerns over the facts surrounding Prairie Meadows.  Where does that money go and why are we not cashing out?

PolkCountyJackpot.com was created to explorer the possibility of tax payers selling Prairie Meadows.
Polk County tax payers funded it, bailed them of bankruptcy in 1992, so now why can't we cash out?

There is a $600 Million Jackpot out there in Polk County.
To most folks the Prairie Meadows revenue stream is  a confusing disappointment.  We would like to help transform that into a smart investment in Iowa's future.  Now is the time to cash out?

Everyone agrees this is a great idea with zero cost to tax payers.  Now comes the question of how we can get it done and be fair to all.
Please help us explore this possibility.

Hard to believe it has grown to such a huge jackpot.  This huge jackpot needs to be cashed out.  We need to work hard toward making sure central Iowa can benefit from it's tax investments in Prairie Meadows.
$400M in new investment money to central Iowa.
Require one third or $200M to  local ownership.
Create 28E to distribute $100M every 2 years, forever.
New owner pays higher property taxes.
New owner pays current state required donations.
Does Not Cost tax Payers a Single Dime!
Keeps Live Racing Going Strong.

Time to cash out as their lease is expiring in 2010.
Prairie Meadows is being sucked dry by everyone.  By turning it over to private investment we cash out, plus, we can begin to work with the new owners on ways to benefit the community even more.  This is clearly a win win situation for everyone in Polk County and all of central Iowa.
Remember, central Iowans are satisfied with the attractions we have.  Iowa is not broken and higher pay and lower taxes are the only things that will keep young Iowans working in Iowa.  If you want additional revenue with zero cost to tax payers sell Prairie Meadows by 2010 for $600M.

Every Single Year Polk County gives out $657M in residential tax abatements.
Prairie Meadows has donated about $360M over a 12 year period.
